Tra: Now men will try to reach triathlon podium

A day after EMMA SNOWSILL'S historic win .. COURTNEY ATKINSON and BRAD KAHLEFELDT will
try to win the first Australian medal in men's Olympic triathlon.

SNOWSILL finally gave Australian triathlon its long-awaited Olympic title when she
broke clear early on the run and beat rival VANESSA FERNANDES of Portugal by more than
a minute.

EMMA MOFFATT added to the Australian success when she won the bronze medal.

The best men's result for Australia at the Games is GREG BENNETT'S fourth place in Athens.

KAHLEFELDT and ATKINSON have legitimate medal claims .. but Spanish world champion
JAVIER GOMEZ will start as the strong medal favourite.

The race at the Ming Tombs reservoir is the same distances as for the women .. a 1.5km
swim, 40km cycle and 10km run.
