Vic: Vic man to stand trial over drowning deaths of three sons

A man charged with the murders of his three sons .. by driving a car they were in into
a Victorian dam .. has been ordered to stand trial over the deaths.

37-year-old ROBERT FARQUHARSON has been committed to stand trial over the drownings
of his sons .. 10-year-old JAI .. seven-year-old TYLER .. and two-year-old BAILEY .. after
driving his car into a dam near the south-west Victorian township of Winchelsea on Fathers
Day last year.

FARQUHARSON .. of Winchelsea .. claims he had a coughing fit and blacked out while
driving along the Princes Highway .. and woke up when the car was in the dam.

In the Geelong Magistrates' Court today .. magistrate JON KLESTADT ordered Farquharson
to stand trial.

The pre-trial committal hearing .. which began on Monday .. has heard from several
witnesses including FARQUHARSON'S friend GREG KING .. who told the court the accused had
told him he planned to kill his sons as an act of revenge against his estranged wife.
